466 Postcards Russian Revolution  Photographic postcards (3) showing the funeral procession in Pwtrograd (St. Petersburg), 23 March 1917 and the burial of 184 demonstrates of the February (25-26) Revolution.  The demonstratos were on the streets in vast numbers protesting against the poor management and conduct of the war with the Germans and chronic lack of food.  Nearly 1 million mourners made their way to the Field of Mars, where the bodies were laid in a common grave.  Text “National funeral of victims who died to gain freedom, 23 March 1917.”  Test on another “You struggled and lost your lives for your love for your people.”  Rare cards. £80 – 100
