Medals Highlight Of The Auction

Here at James&Sons we were particularly pleased with the results of the medals on offer at our auction on Saturday 27th April.

A Distinguished Flying Medal  group estimated at £1,500-2,500 realised just over £6,000, including premium.

lot 601 medals @James Auction Sat 27th AprilIn the stamp world Penny Blacks sold well with very strong bidding for Commonwealth stamps, particularly from Australia.  In fact, lots consisting of Australian items, of which there were 18, were 100% sold, with many now on their way to Australia.

A Yarmouth Cavalry medal of 1805 reached £310 and a 1914 Princess Mary Christmas tin, with a monogrammed bullet made into a pencil made £80.
